May 4, 2009 UITableView Example

I added to my links today. Matt Gallagher has detailed complete examples with code that take you from using Cocoa and Cocoa Touch features in a basic way to making use of it in a really professional way. His latest post is on adding color and graphics to UITableViews. I included a small screen shot from his site to give you an idea of the difference this makes.

  1. I really enjoyed Matt’s post as well (stumbled across it in Twitter). Problem is, if you are doing the Presence assignment using a UITableViewController like they do in the course, there is no way to get the gradient background to appear in your table, even with a transparent background. It just doesn’t seem to work with UITableViewController. Matt’s other post on recreating UITableViewController seems to be necessary (or just using a UIViewController instead). I really like Loren Brichter’s fast scrolling sample for drawing tables. The best result seems to be combining both Matt’s and Loren’s approach for custom tables without the performance hit.
